Explore 4 Tranquil Beaches On Our doorstep!
Castle Beach: situated alongside Pendennis Point with views of Pendennis Castle, just a stone’s throw away from the hotel. At low tide each rock pool holds a hoard of wild treasure for you and your family to discover. The clean, safe bathing waters, rock pools and golden sands, along with Castle Beach Cafe, make this the perfect beach to relax with little ones.
Gyllyngvase Beach: one of the most popular beaches in Cornwall. Awarded Blue Flag status again in 2018, recognised for its cleanliness and quality of bathing water, along with being well managed and safe. Known for its wide arc of golden sand and inviting sea offering a wide range of beach activities suitable for everyone, from Paddle-boarding to Kayaking and sea swimming clubs to beach yoga. Gylly Beach is manned by the fantastic RNLI Lifeguards across the summer months.
Alongside Gylly Beach you will find Queen Mary Gardens, a tranquil garden of Cornish flowers which opened in 1910 and home to sub-tropical plants such as colourful Agapanthus and giant leafed Gunnera.
Gylly Beach is home to award winning Gylly Beach Café, a unique, stylish, family-run eatery offering a warm welcome, outstanding service and locally sourced food, served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Maenporth Beach: a beautiful sandy cove with views across Falmouth Bay offering some superb coastal walking opportunities on-wards towards the Helford River. A gently sloping beach with shallow water and rockpools with plenty of marine life to explore making it a good choice for families with children. At low water the ship wreck of the Ben Asdale can be seen, while marine activities such as sailing, kayaking, diving and sea safaris are available for the more adventurous. Parking is right by the beach next to Maenporth Beach Cafe serving delicious freshly prepared food, served by the friendly 'Life's a Beach’ crew.
Swanpool Beach and Nature Reserve: a delightful swimming cove with adjoining Swanpool Lake Nature Reserve. Excellent watersport centre where you can try your hand at dinghy sailing, kayaking or windsurfing, along with crazy golf next to the lake for all the family to enjoy.
Swanpool Beach Cafe serve a variety of homemade delicious dishes and famous for their Quirky Ice Creams made from local Callestick ice cream, smothered in Cornish clotted cream and topped with a variety of extras, from jelly babies to chocolate orange! After popular demand Barefoot Dinners returns this summer to Swanpool Beach Cafe. Held on the decking of the café, with the sea and sand just a few steps away, these sumptuous feasts are a wonderful way to celebrate the Cornish Summer by night.
