5 Winter Adventures
Looking for some inspiration on how to make the most of your next Cornwall holiday? Here are our top 5 Winter Adventures we’d recommend you try this season….
1. Experience Storm Watching
Cosy up in the hotel with a luxury hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows and watch the untamed beauty of a tumultuous winter storm: the raw power of ocean waves smashing into the shore is a mesmerising sight.
2.Spend the day at Falmouth's National Maritime Museum
Spread over five floors the contemporary visitor experience includes an undersea gallery where you can watch fish swimming in the harbour and a 30-metre lookout tower where you can track the comings and goings of naval ships, superyachts and dinghies. The Maritime Museum's regularly changing exhibitions means there's always something new to explore.
3. Follow the Rail Ale Trail
Take a train trip along the Maritime Line stopping off to sample locally brewed ales along the way. The railway line runs from Falmouth Docks to the cathedral city of Truro and is a hugely entertaining way to sample regional beers in some of Cornwall’s most historic and characterful pubs.
4. Roam the Rugged Coastline
The crisp winter landscape, with its pale blue skies and roaring seas, is like a siren
calling visitors out for a blast of sea air. Take a bracing walk along the South West Coast Path and you’ll be exhilarated by dazzling views, salty spray and the boom of waves crashing into craggy stacks. Explore rugged cliffs and sheltered coves or take a trip to one of the nearby picturesque fishing harbours or villages. And if you don’t want to venture too far, stroll from the hotel along the esplanade, stopping at award-winning Gylly Beach Cafe on your way.
5. Indulge in Winter feasting
With its chandeliers and rich soft furnishings, our two AA-rosette restaurants is a beautiful destination in which to spend leisurely winter evenings.
