Falmouth in particular is one of the most inspiring and uplifting places in Cornwall and The Royal Duchy Hotel makes the ideal base from which to explore.

As well as its chilled, cosmopolitan vibe, Falmouth has a unique maritime heritage and boasts a range of world-class water sports to enjoy on its miles of golden beaches and crystal waters. You’ll also discover a wealth of stunning coastline, charming gardens and towns, and historic and cultural sites in and around Falmouth. We are perfectly positioned for you to explore the local area.

A weekend itinerary...

Friday Evening
Before heading to the hotel, we recommend a visit to the Eden Project. Housing the largest rainforest in captivity and stunning plants the biomes at Eden are spectacular. With check-in at 3pm, you will have plenty of time to sample our afternoon tea handmade by our amazing Pastry Chefs, followed by a relaxing visit to our retreat where you can enjoy leisurely laps of the pool or detox with hot coals in the cedar sauna - all before enjoying dinner at our AA-Award Winning Restaurant.

Saturday Morning
After a hot breakfast or one of our specialities, such as stacked pancakes or grilled kippers, head off to Pendennis Castle, a mighty fortress built by Henry VIII to defend Britain against invasion. The castle boasts an interactive exhibition and fantastic 360-degree views of the estuary.

Saturday Afternoon
Return to the hotel for a spot of light lunch. You could even dine alfresco on our outdoor terrace and enjoy uninterrupted views of Falmouth Bay. After lunch, pop into town and explore the many unique independent retailers and pick the perfect souvenir of your visit. The National Maritime Museum is also only a short walk from the hotel and is a must-see during your stay in Falmouth.

Saturday Evening
Relax in the terrace bar and enjoy a cocktail expertly mixed by a member of our knowledgeable team, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner in the restaurant.

Sunday Morning
After breakfast, take a walk along the seafront before checking out and head to Gyllyngvase Beach. Watch the wild swimmers embrace the cold or take a dip yourself!

Head home via the subtropical Trebah Gardens for a last spot of sightseeing. This Cornish valley garden has over 4 miles of footpaths, full of exotic plants.
