Meet The Royal Duchy Hotel Head Chef | John Mijatovic
Head Chef John Mijatovic has taken The Royal Duchy Hotel, Pendennis Restaurant from strength to strength over almost a decade of service, flying the flag for fine dining in Falmouth. The Pendennis Restaurant has won AA Rosettes for its creative menu which combines classic British cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian flavours. Taking inspiration from the fresh Cornish produce in and around Falmouth and Cornwall.
"The Royal Duchy Hotel is perfectly positioned to enjoy fresh Cornish produce that is renowned for its quality and taste yet with minimal impact on the marine environment around us. Each day over 50 different varieties of fish are landed by local boats here in Cornwall, we are extremely lucky to be able to offer local, sustainable fish using sustainable fishing methods, along with meat and vegetables from Cornish farms" says John.
With glorious sweeping sea views across the bay, Pendennis Restaurant is the perfect getaway for top quality relaxed dining; whether guests are celebrating a special occasion, indulging in a top quality dinner, or simply enjoying a Cornish breakfast with a tranquil view.
Guests can also enjoy delicious food in the relaxed surroundings of the Terrace Lounge, the ideal choice for those evenings when you would prefer a light meal or informal dining. In the warmer months, residents and non-residents can also choose to dine al fresco on the beautiful Sun Terrace overlooking the manicured lawn over to the bay and up to Pendennis Castle.
Comfortable and relaxed, the menu is extensive and includes popular Cornish seafood dishes such as local crab and fresh mussels, possibly caught just a stone’s throw from the hotel in Falmouth Bay.
