Falmouth Spring Festival
A festival to celebrate Falmouth's beautiful open and green spaces.
As profiled on the BBC’s Great British Garden Revival programme, this wonderful early season festival brings together the Falmouth community like no other. The festival brings an explosion of colour, life and activity to the town. Sponsored by the University of Exeter
This is a vibrant, community-orientated event and the first main festival of the year and a must see in Falmouth!
Falmouth Spring Festival Activities
Paint the Town Yellow Day | Thursday14th March
The town becomes ablaze with yellow in preparation for the Festival as local schoolchildren brighten up nearly 100 shop windows with thousands of daffodils and decorations.
Venue: Through the town, as part of Falmouth Spring Festival 40,000 daffodils are handed out to the people of Falmouth by local schoolchildren and University of Exeter students.
Spring Clean Days | Friday 15th – Saturday 16th March
Beach cleaning, painting, gardening – you name it we’ll be doing it. We’ll be revamping a number of areas around the town so if you’d like to come along and get your hands dirty for a good cause then just shout!
Venue: Various across Falmouth, as part of Falmouth Spring Festival and in partnership with Cormac, hundreds of people get together to rejuvenate Falmouth. Activities include litter picking, landscaping, beach cleans and replanting.
The Falmouth Spring Flower Show | 23rd-24th March
The Falmouth Spring Flower Show now in its 109th year, has marked the start of spring in Falmouth for over a century with wonderful displays of shrubs, daffodils and cacti.
Falmouth's finest spring flowers, rare and exotic flora, new and heritage daffodils, flora art, photography and a dozen children's classes will delight visitors to Cornwall's oldest flower show.
Glorious displays of locally grown flowers, floral arrangements, specimen plants, photography and local trade stands. The Show usually takes place the last weekend in March and is the first in a line of successive flower shows which take place around Cornwall to showcase the best of Cornwall spring flowers.

Rockpooling Session | Sunday 17th March
Castle Beach, Falmouth. Join us on this fun, family activity and we will help you find and identify species that inhabit our special coastline.
Venue: Castle Beach where Professor Tom Tregenza and his team of bio-scientists from the University of Exeter’s Penryn Campus will be leading this fun, family activity and will help you find and identify each species that is specially adapted for coping with the environment around it.

Science in the Pub | Monday 18th – Friday 22nd March
Whether you are looking to advance your scientific knowledge or just needing an excuse to go the pub on a school night, these FREE, fun and stimulating sessions run by leading academics from the University of Exeter will entertain and amaze you! These novel talks, demonstrations and experiments are free to attend. Discover your thirst for science!

Moonlight Memory Walk | Saturday 30th March
A five mile Moonlight Memory Walk is an uplifting night out where we remember our loved ones and join together for a special candle lit ceremony. The ceremony gives walkers an opportunity to reflect, remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones with readings, music and a touching display of lit memory candles. Previously a ladies's only event, we are extending this to male supporters for our 10th anniversary year.
