Falmouth Oyster Festival 2019
Whilst the summer season may be coming to an end, there’s still plenty to look forward to here in Falmouth with autumnal breaks and plenty of events and activities to enjoy – including one of our favourites, the fantastic Falmouth Oyster Festival which will be celebrating its 23rd year.
Running between 10th – 13th October 2019, the festival welcomes thousands of visitors each year, celebrating the start of the oyster dredging season with a packed programme of events that offers fun for all ages.
This year’s Falmouth Oyster Festival line-up includes cookery demonstrations by local leading chefs, as well as sea shanties, oyster shucking competitions, a town parade, Falmouth Working Boat Race, shell painting for kids and a marquee full to the brim with local produce.
You’ll likely recognise some of the high profile names taking part too, with Rick Stein, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Nathan Outlaw and many more taking part.
Taking place in Event’s Square, Falmouth, those staying with us here at The Royal Duchy will only be a short walk away from all the fun, making it easy to enjoy all that this fun festival has to offer then returning to relax in luxury over looking the bay.
High profile names including Rick Stein, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Clarissa Dickson Wright, Aldo Zilli, John Burton Race, Valentine Warner and Sophie Grigson, have entertained cooking enthusiasts over the years. Well known personalities and local Michelin Star chefs including Pete Goss, Nathan Outlaw, Ben Tunnicliffe and Chris Eden, have all added to the programme too.
