Places to visit around Falmouth this Summer!

Family friendly things to do around Falmouth this summer

With the school holidays just around the corner, here are some of our top tips on family friendly things to do around Falmouth this summer.

Explore a castle

Head up to Pendennis Castle and discover 450 years of history – from the fortress’s origins as one of Henry VIII’s coastal strongholds right up to its last military role as a secret Second World War base.

Zoom down a flume!

Head over to Ships and Castles, zoom down the 70 metre flume, let the river run sweep you around the pool, enjoy the spa pools and let the little ones have fun in the large shallow area – there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

Try your hand at some water sports

With a variety of different water sports available to try around Falmouth and the surrounding areas, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Why not have a go at sailing, paddle boarding or kayaking? Or, if you’re feeling even more adventurous, why not try a day of coasteering!

Have fun at Raze the Roof

Do the kids need to let off a little steam? Head to Raze the Roof and watch as they tackle the vertical slide, rope walks and astro slide! The little ones can also enjoy the dedicated baby and toddler area.

Explore the gardens around Falmouth

Home to some of the finest gardens in the UK, Falmouth offers some true slices of paradise. From ancient woodlands to valley gardens, mazes ready to explore and stunning coastal scenery, there’s so much to discover.

Discover the world’s largest maritime museum

With 15 galleries over five floors, The National Maritime Museum offers visitors the chance to explore the influence the sea has had on our history and culture. This summer kids can also enjoy Pirate School where they can learn the facts and fictions behind real pirate characters.

Enjoy some family fun at Flambards

Take to the skies as you hurtle along on a roller coaster, step back in time and explore the life-size Victorian Village and experience Britain in the Blitz. You can also enjoy the undercover soft play area or discover dinosaurs in the Jurassic Journey.

Relax on the beach

With a variety of stunning beaches to choose from in and around Falmouth, enjoying a day on the sand during your time in Cornwall is a must. So pack up a picnic, grab a bucket and spade and head for the water!

Take to the water on a boat trip

Jump on a classic ferry, head out on a sea safari or order a water taxi – a boat trip offers a fantastic way to explore the county and see the coast from a different point of view – and a stunning one at that!
