You will never be bored on a trip to Cornwall even out of season.  Read on for our top 10 of things to do, places to explore and not to miss events!

  1. Falmouth Oyster Festival 12th - 15th October - a must visit event on the Falmouth Calendar. Celebrating the start of the oyster dredging season, the oyster festival is one the of biggest and most loved specialist food events.
  2. Take a trip on the ferry to visit the picturesque village of St Mawes
  3. Visit Trebah Gardens - this sub tropical garden is beautiful at any time of year.
  4. Pendennis Castle - only a short walk from the hotel, the castle is one of Henry VIII finest seaside fortresses 
  5. Walk the South West Coast path - Falmouth is the perfect starting point for a coastal walk - head from the hotel towards Maenporth and onto Mawnan Smith, the Helford River and beyond.
  6. Borrow a Royal Duchy Hotel dryrobe and take a quick dip in the sea. You won't regret it. It's a wonderful feeling post swim!
  7. National Maritime Museum Cornwall - learn about all things nautical from the local maritime history to the current exhibition - Pirates!
  8. Falmouth Book Festival - 16th - 22nd October - a festival of all things literature with talks, performances and workshops.  Headiners include Booker prize winners Eleanor Catton and Ben Okri
  9. Take a trip on the Falmouth Coaster - a very popular open top bus tour of Falmouth which can be boarded just outside the hotel.  
  10. Painting Day with local artist Maggie Cochran - a new event for 2023 - see Maggie at work in the hotel. Dates and times to be confirmed
